Beer Batter Onion Rings

I've always been very intimidated with cooked vegetables, specially onion. Truth is I changed completely my opinion when I tried this recipe. Plus, it's super easy to make.

You are going to need:

- 3 medium onions, sliced
- 330ml of chilled lager
- 200g plain flour
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp paprika
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1 tsp black pepper
- vegetable oil

Peel and slice the onions about 1cm thick and keep them aside. In a bowl mix the flour, garlic, paprika, salt, pepper and mix. Slowly add the beer and mix everything into a batter. Put all the onion rings into the batter and coat them all evenly. In a deep frying pan heat up the oil to a medium high temperature and start tossing the onion rigs into the oil, without overcrowding, letting them cook 2 to 3 minutes on each side. After frying, place them on paper towel to absorb the extra fat. Serve them hot.
